At the request of Deputy Mayor Alan Greenberger, the commission agreed to give neighbors more time to sort through implications of the Overbrook Farms Historic District designation. The commission also approved the removal of stained glass windows from the vacant St. Peters Episcopal Church in Germantown to faciliate a pending sale.
This just in: Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr., delayed a vote on historic designation of the neighborhood in December. He now says he is opposed to the designation. The issue will go before the Historical Commission Friday morning.
From Eyes on the Street: After a short time on the market, Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church on Grays Ferry and Fitzwater was sold to a developer who hopes to convert the church and its rectory into residential use.
