Whither the Reading Viaduct wrapped in the Callowhill NID?

From Eyes on the Street: City Council unanimously voted in favor of the Callowhill NID on Thursday even though an apparent majority of property owners wrote letters of opposition. Will the NID come to pass? And if so, what of the Reading Viaduct park project that the NID could help fund?

 

City Controller calls for action on vacant school buildings owned by the Philadelphia School District.

Recommendations for District and Licenses & Inspections range from demolishing all buildings that are structurally unsound to interior and exterior inspections in order to determine potential public hazards that need to be addressed immediately.

 

Security guard union wages mild protest at DRWC meeting, but says it will escalate if necessary

The security union says DRWC changed schedules to punish them, and negotiations for its first contract have stalled. DRWC says the schedule changes were routine, and it was waiting for the union to respond to a list of available dates.
