Chinatown Foxwoods survey results

Members of Asian American United and the Fujian Association of Greater Philadelphia – community groups located in Chinatown – are going door-to-door to ask business owners what they think of Foxwoods Casino moving in to The Gallery at Market East.

AAU Board Member Helen Gym said the survey is ongoing.  But as of Tuesday, 75 businesses had been surveyed. Of those, 48 said they strongly oppose the casino, 12 said they had serious concerns and needed more information, 12 said they supported it, and 3 did not care whether or not the casino is built.

AAU has posted results on its website, www.aaunited.org. A correction to the press release that can also be seen on the site: Dr. Ying Zhang Lin is Chairman of the Fujian Association, not president.
