ZBA votes down adult entertainment venue on Lancaster Avenue

A message from Monica Peters, Commercial Corridor Manager at People’s Emergency Center CDC:

Thank you to each and every community member that attended the zoning hearing yesterday to show support for our community.   The Zoning Board of Adjustment voted unanimously against an adult live entertainment venue coming to 4335 Lancaster Avenue.

Sixteen community members, all of whom were protestants,  attended the hearing.   Protestants consisted of block captains, business representatives, officials from neighboring school programs, community organizations and area residents.   Two police officers from the 16th Police District came as well to express their opposition.   Marty Cabry, Director of Zoning from Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell’s office, presented to the zoning board on behalf of the community.   Business owners and community members also spoke to the board expressing their opposition.

PECCDC was created in 1992 to revitalize the West Philadelphia community where PEC provides a wide range of social services and permanent housing opportunities to homeless families
