Experience the Civil War in Frankford

By Shannon McDonald

Frankford’s Grand Army of the Republic Museum and Library will host and open house this Sunday, as it does every first Sunday of the month.

This week will feature guest speaker Lesly Wood on the topic of  Women and the Civil War Medical Community.  Visitors can experience the Civil War and Victorian Era at the museum, where volunteers dress as Union soldiers. The open house runs from noon to 5 p.m. with a presentation at 1:30 p.m. The museum is located at 4278 Griscom Street, near Penn Street.

Thanks to the Frankford Gazette for the heads up.
