Water Dept may move sewer project to Washington Ave

Weekly Press: Water Department’s Sewer Relief Project might move to Washington Ave. but no final plan yet

Nicole Contosta reports that the 700-1300 blocks of Pine Street were slated as the location to install a new storm flood relief line to combat basement sewage leakage and flooding in the city’s riverwards, but folks are now receving word that the Water Department is interested in doing the project on Washington Avenue.

According to Councilman Frank DiCicco, the project taking place along Pine Street “is not imminent” and that “no decisions will be made [in any neighborhoods] without additional public meetings.”  Regardless, DiCicco stressed the absolute necessity of carrying it out.
