Inquirer: Casinos step in to save bike race

Christopher Hepp reports today that both Foxwoods and SugarHouse casino companies donated about $100,000 each to support Philadelphia’s annual professional bike race, considered by many to be the premier race of its kind in the United States.

The bike race has been held in Philly since 1985 and was in jeopardy of being cancelled due to losing about $500,000 worth of sponsorship.
