Search for the Delaware Valley’s “Best Employer”

The Search is on for the Delaware Valley’s “Best Employer”

The Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC) is seeking nominations of local companies that offer excellent support to parents of young children for its “Best Employer for Working Parents” award. Nomination forms are available online at www.dvaeyc.org or by calling 215-893-0130. The deadline to apply is Monday, August 31, 2009.

This year marks DVAEYC’s 15th annual Best Employers for Working Parents Award recognizing Delaware Valley companies that demonstrate leadership and innovation in creating family supportive environments for working parents. One outstanding company will be selected in September and honored at the agency’s signature fall event, “The Champions for Young Children Celebration.” This year’s winner will be commended in conjunction with Senator Bob Casey, the 2009 Champion for Young Children.

To be eligible, companies must be committed to family-friendly programs and benefits for all parents who need services within their organizations. They must be located in the five-county Southeastern Pennsylvania region, including Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties; Camden, Gloucester and Burlington counties in South Jersey; or New Castle County, Delaware.

Delaware Valley employers that offer on-site or nearby child care, provide flex hours or telecommute options to employees, and welcome children to visit the workplace are excellent candidates, and especially encouraged to apply.
