The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northeast Detectives Division is seeking the public’s help in locating its most-wanted suspects in connection with crimes linked to the Northeast. Call 215-686-3153 to report information about any of the suspects.

The Historical Society of Frankford, in partnership with Holy Family University, the Northeast Times and state Rep. Dennis M. O’Brien, announces the selection of the inaugural inductees for the new Northeast Philadelphia Hall of Fame. Plans began in 2008.

Daily News readers recently helped the FBI catch Kenneth Saresky, who was wanted by the FBI for a robbery June 30 at the Harleysville National Bank, on Bustleton Avenue near Haldeman. Saresky is the eighth suspect caught with the help of readers and the “Catch Me If You Can” feature in the Daily News.

Virginia Wuest, mother of Archbishop Ryan student Trevor Wuest, is on a campaign to end early morning lunch periods. Trevor’s lunch time is at 9:42 a.m. Many schools, like Ryan, have strict no-snacking rules throughout the day. Wuest asked to have Trevor’s schedule changed but was told he’d need a doctor’s note.

A dispute over a fence affecting residents on the intersecting blocks of Frankford Avenue, and Kendrick, Strahle and Gillespie streets has divided neighbors in Upper Holmesburg.

Kevin Leneghan, of Winchester Park, will lead Father Judge’s football team, the Crusaders, in their opening game on Sept. 4 when the Crusaders host Council Rock North at Lincoln. Last year, Judge finished 5-1 in the Catholic League Class AAAA Division and won the division on the strength of a tiebreaker. It was the first time a Catholic League school from Northeast Philadelphia won a football division since the leagues were restructured by student enrollment.

An unknown person or persons is traveling around Northeast Philadelphia spray painting the words “Hammer Time” in various places. Recently a stop sign outside of Nifty Fifties was sprayed.
