Chemical fumes lead to Nabisco evacuation

Employees at the Nabisco/Kraft factory at 12000 Roosevelt Boulevard evacuated the building early this morning when chemical fumes consumed the facility.

An outside company brought in Xylene, a a chemical used to clean equipment, around 8 a.m. Shortly after, fumes from the product took over the building, and 114 employees had to evacuate the premises. No injuries were reported, but the building will remain closed until Tuesday.
