UPDATED: Tacony boy injured in hit and run

An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident in Tacony last night.

Daiheem Rhodes was crossing the 7000-block of Keystone Street on his bike when he was hit by a car, whose driver didn’t stop. The boy’s mother found a Ford hubcab in the street, but investigators have few details of the vehicle. Neighbors who witnessed the accident said the driver was speeding, but the formal investigation is not complete.

Rhodes, a sixth grader, is in intensive care at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and doctors are hoping to release him in a few days.
