Food For Thought: Nick’s Roast Beef

One word to describe Nick’s Roast Beef: WOW!  Nick’s is open until 2 a.m. all week long and is always ready to serve up a hot, tasty and mouthwatering roast beef sandwich that will keep you coming back for years.

Located on Cottman Avenue between Bustleton and Castor, this large yet scrumptious restaurant is definitely worth a visit.  You are welcome to dine in the restaurant area, which is very casual, or hold a banquet in the large hall which, can seat anywhere from 40 people to 100 people.  There is also a spacious bar area that is great for relaxing and unwinding with friends.  Drinks are very reasonably priced, as is the rest of the menu.  Specials are offered throughout the week for happy hour and into the late evening.

The staff I had the privilege of meeting was exceptionally nice and very courteous to the customers.  There were no complaints about the service at my table that evening, because the food was out in about 10 minutes after we ordered, served hot and delicious.

There are a variety of sandwich choices at Nick’s, and almost any kind of roast beef sandwich you could dream up is on the menu.  If you travel to Nick’s, I highly recommend you get one of the fabulous roast beef sandwiches, which will will put Arby’s to shame.  Of course if you are not in the mood for roast beef, you have your pick of of hoagies and platters readily available.  Sorry vegetarians, but Nick’s is a meat lover’s restaurant.

The establishment appeared clean and tidy with fresh silverware and flatware for every order.  The floors were kept clean, especially for a casual fast dining space, and even the bar area was well groomed.  You may have to wait for a table if you arrive at dinner time, but the staff is so quick to serve that the crowd moves speedily through.

Nick’s also offers a wide variety of entertainment on various specified evenings.  Local bands from the area are always available to come in and entertain the guests of the bar throughout the evening hours.  This is a great place for very casual, fast and tasty dinning at reasonable prices.

If you are looking for a good time with friends to relax and have a delicious sandwich, Nick’s of the NEast is the perfect places to venture for lunch or dinner.
