Northeast man possibly responsible for Flyers-related vandalism

Police are seeking a Northeast resident for questioning surrounding the events that left a Canadian journalist’s car damaged.

Pat Hickey was covering Game 1 of the Flyers-Canadiens Eastern Conference for the Montreal Gazette last week when his car was vandalized in the parking lot of the Wachovia Center. Hickey’s car reportedly sustained $1,000 worth of damages.

Though Hickey said he won’t press charges, he does want the person responsible to give $1,000 to a Philadelphia charity and make a public apology. The District Attorney’s Office, however, will likely pursue charges.

Police are interested in speaking with Dan Hazlett of the Northeast. A neighborhood or address have not been released for Hazlett, but information from another involved party has made him a person of interest with the police.
