UC Review: Baltimore Ave. business owners question L&I reps about outdoor seating

Baltimore Avenue business owners met with L&I representatives for an information session about a series of city inspections to take place on the corridor through the end of July. Though the tone of the meeting was “polite and cordial,” the University City Review reports, several Avenue business owners raised concerns about outdoor seating protocol, zoning and licensing.

“We’re happy to follow the rules,” said Mauro Daigle of local food market Milk and Honey. “But when we can’t get anyone from [L&I] and no one can tell you the rules,” and local owners are busy running their businesses he said, “[we] have to decipher what’s going on.”
