Reader tips from the 8th District

We’ve received two tips today from readers in the 8th District — one dealing with crime, and the other with a sewage issue. Below is the information they sent to us. NEast Philly is working with the appropriate authorities to bring you more information.

Crime Tip

We received a tip about a possible crime in Walton Park. However, we will keep the details private until we can confirm this information with police. No violent crime has been reported, though, and residents are not in immediate danger.

Sewage Tip

Another reader reports a sewage problem on Academy Road between Red Lion and Comly roads, which was affecting the nearby Delaware River and Walton Run Park. The problem, which reached its peak Saturday, has been taken care of, but Walton Run Park still has a sewage smell. Neighbors are encouraging others to stay clear of the park until rain water can naturally wash the smell away.
