Holy Family art exhibit features Gulf oil spill renderings

Artist Wendy Osterweil is putting a creative spin on the BP oil spill in the Gulf.

Osterweil is expressing her disgust with the spill — and the nation’s waste of natural resources in general — through art.

Through Sept. 23, Osterweil’s works about the Gulf oil spill will be on display at Holy Family University. Called Gulf Ghosts and Creature Comforts, the works are made from wood, silkscreens, fabric and paper, and reflect media images of the spill.

Holy Family will host a free, public reception about the exhibit Sept 15 in the Education and Technology building.
