Frankford Friends expansion gets neighborhood civic association OK

The Frankford Civic Association voted on and approved the construction of a 32-foot building near Frankford Friends School at Penn and Orthodox Streets. If approved by the city planning commission, this project will cost $1.6 million. This new addition would increase the student population at the school from 125 to 165 while also adding a meeting place, basketball court, and classrooms. Tuition for the Frankford Friends School is expected to remain the same and community members are welcome to use the new space once it’s created.
