In an effort to make an unwelcoming corner much safer and more inviting, the residents of this South Philadelphia neighborhood are attempting to create a parks on Catharine Street.

The space on 22nd and Catharine has not been available to the public, so this competition/project will open up the area to everyone. The residents working to make this park a reality are looking for $50,000 in funding.

The breakdown for the costs includes; demolition of concrete, acquisition and installation of brick pavers, acquisition and installation of rubber paving, planting, planting soil, benches, low fencing, installation of electric underground, playground sculpture for kids, waterproofing of adjacent foundation, fencing at alley and adjacent property and wall mounted lights.
