Inga Saffron writes about Carl Greene’s work in PHA

Carl R. Greene’s troubles been prominently in the public eye the last month. However, he is also responsible for making a significant positive impact in the housing communities throughout the City. He reduced the neighborhoods high-rise towers by more than half, replacing them with row house style homes that increased the aesthetics of the community. Under Green’s leadership, the Public Housing Authority developed 7,600 units in the last decade.

Greene’s increase in housing renovations sparked private builders and influenced a private housing boom. His work with the PHA has enhanced housing throughout the city and his work has contributed to the beauty of Philadelphia neighborhoods.
