Abduction attempts reported in 15th and 8th districts

Police in the 15th and 8th Districts have reported abduction attempts involving male and female offenders.15th District, 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 24 on the 5700-block of Ditman Street– 12-year-old female reports that an unknown male, driving a white van approached her and stated, “Do you want a piece of candy, if you wan ta piece of candy, get in the van.” She refused and ran away. Offender: w/m, white beard, curlywhite hair and was heavy set.

8th District, 3:20 p.m. on Jan. 25 on the 10900-block of Kipling Lane– 11-year-old male stated that while he was walking with his friend, an unknown female in a vehicle approached them and said, “ Come on boys, I’m going to take you home to your parents; your parents called me. Come on, let’s go.” They refused and ran away. Offender: w/f, short,thin build, black shoulder length hair, in herlate 20’s or early 30’s. Vehicle is described asreddish, 4 door vehicle.
