SugarHouse wants to add 14 more table games

SugarHouse Casino has asked the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for permission to add 14 new table games, which would bring the total number of tables to 57.

The additional table games would require 2,200 additional square feet of gaming floor, bringing the total to 53,217 square feet. According to a press statement, this space would be carved out of the existing floor space by reducing the size of The Refinery restaurant’s seating. The High Limit Area and Asian-themed table games would be relocated and reconfigured, and service at The Refinery’s waterfront bar would expand.

According to the statement, SugarHouse wants to increase the number of table games due to customer demand. “The Philly market is speaking to us, and we’re listening,” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “The tremendous popularity of our table games is having a positive impact across the entire operation.”

SugarHouse says the additional games would generate another 100 jobs.

Overall, casino revenues have been less than projected. But SugarHouse has no plans to reduce the number of slot machines. It has 1,602.

SugarHouse Casino’s table games currently include a mix of blackjack, craps, roulette, Mini Baccarat, Pai Gow poker and three-card poker. The type of table games the casino wishes to add have not been announced.
