Weekend News Briefs: 2/5-2/7

Friday — One man died in an early morning fire on the 1000-block of Red Lion Road. Firefighters responded around 5:30 a.m. and were able to extinguish the blaze in less than a half hour. A secondary search of the complex after the fire was out led to the discovery of the man in a second-floor back bedroom. The cause of the fire remains unclear.

Sunday — Folks in Frankford are working to correct a real estate listing after a Frankford Gazette reader found an ad promoting a home’s ideal condition for a halfway house. An ongoing issue in Frankford, unlicensed and unmonitored halfway houses have caused many problems for neighbors and for the reputations of legitimate recovery homes. Frankford SSD’s Tim Wisnewski says the listing agent and property owner have already been contacted.
