Details:
- The City’s last comprehensive plan was completed in 1960; it helped to transform Center City and Northeast Philadelphia. A new plan is needed to take Philadelphia into the next era, and to ensure the City’s ability to compete for more business and provide a better quality of life in neighborhoods.
- The new comprehensive plan focuses on the City over a 25-year timeframe and requires planning on two scales: city and district. There will be 18 district plans.
- The Planning Commission has followed a civic visioning process that engaged citizens and experts for input over a one-year period. The public is invited to comment on the draft plan.
- The planning process is supported by grants from PA Dept. of Community and Economic Development and Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission
