Dog of the Week: Kya

Kya (A12409192) is a super cute 2-year-old female boxer mix that came into the shelter after her owners decided they did not have enough time for her. To make matters worse, Kya was dropped off on her birthday! Despite this , Kya is friendly toward people and likes to crawl into your lap for pets.

She currently isn’t very playful, but hopefully she can find a home where she can relax and have fun. Kya’s previous owners reported that Kya has lived with kids under 2 and teenagers in her former home. KYA is friendly with other dogs, and has shown incredible tolerance toward rude behavior, even when one was throwing himself all over her.

Kya was introduced to a cat, but wasn’t too interested and seemed nervous. Kya has no issues with resource guarding or body handling. Kya walked well on the leash and loved to be out stretching her long legs (and hearing compliments from other volunteers about how beautiful she is!). Kya is confused about why she is here and needs a home where she can receive all the love and attention she deserves.
