More time to comment on the draft of the citywide comprehensive plan

Anyone who wants to comment on the draft of the citywide comprehensive plan has more time to do so.

The Philadelphia City Planning Commission has extended the public comment period for the draft Citywide Plan of Philadelphia2035  by one month, to April 30, 2011.

Comments can be made by:
-Emailing to phila2035@phila.gov.
-Posting on the “Get Involved” page of the project website www.phila2035.org.
-Mailing to the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, 1515 Arch Street, 13th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19102, attn.: Alan Urek.

The Citywide Plan is the PCPC’s initial step toward preparing the first, full comprehensive plan for Philadelphia in 50 years.

Subsequent steps of Philadelphia2035: The Comprehensive Plan include preparation of 18 Strategic District Plans, to begin in June 2011 and to be completed by 2015. The Citywide Plan will serve as the framework for these subsequent District Plans (and other selected geographic area plans, as well). It will be amended over the next five years, as the District Plans proceed and new information becomes available.

The Citywide Plan will be fully updated in 2015 to commence the next cycle of District Plans. This ongoing process will ensure that the Comprehensive Plan is always up-to-date.
