Police look for Somerton assault suspect

The police department’s Special Victims Unit is investigating an early morning assault that happened Tuesday in Somerton.

A crime bulletin released by authorities says a female resident of an apartment building at 450 Byberry Road was approached by a man around 4:15 a.m. inside her home.

The assailant reportedly entered through a front window armed with a handgun and sexually assaulted the woman.

Police are looking for a black male in his late 20s or early 30s who is 5’8″ to 6’0″ tall with a thin build, dark eyes and long eyelashes. He was dressed in dark clothing and had a scarf covering most of his face.
