Council authorizes zoning code hearings

In a voice vote on Thursday, Philadelphia City Council authorized the first public hearings on the city’s new zoning code. Introducing the resolution was First District Councilman Frank DiCicco, who wrote much of the charter amendment authorizing the work of the Zoning Code Commission.

The ZCC’s majority preliminary report, along with its minority report, now go to the Committee of the Whole for public hearings. The resolution provides the new code and draft legislation required to implement it, the zoning map revision plan and Zoning Administrative Manual, the majority and minority reports. The first hearing has yet to be scheduled.
