Triple shooting, bank robbery in 15th District

Officers in the 15th District were busy yesterday with two evening crimes in Mayfair and Frankford.

At 6 p.m. officers responded to a robbery report at the First Republic Bank at Frankford at Cottman. Authorities are looking for a white male about 5’8″ with a thin build who was wearing a plaid shirt. The suspect reportedly handed a teller a demand note and fled on foot with $1,500.

Then around 7 p.m., police were called to Frankford for a triple shooting on the 1600-block of Dyre Street. Three men — ages 18, 21 and 25 — were shot at while sitting on a porch. The men are expected to recover from the leg and thigh wounds, and police are looking for at least one shooter who fled in a white Buick Century sedan with dark tinted windows.
