Design Advocacy Group announcement

We have just learned that City Council is re-convening the hearings on the Zoning Code proposals on Wednesday, September 14th at 10 a.m. in City Hall, Room 400. We encourage you to attend the hearings to show your support for the new zoning code. It is critically important that City Council members understand that they need to conduct their hearings within the next few weeks and send their comments back to the Zoning Code Commission promptly so the final version of the new zoning code can be returned to Council in time to take a final vote for passage in this legislative session.

The best – and easiest – way for us to demonstrate the urgency and level of concern we have to keep this process on track is to attend the hearing, filling the seats in the public gallery of City Council. We need to let Council know that we are paying attention and that we care. If you wish to testify or send in written comments on specifics, that is also important, but the single most powerful step you can take at this stage in the process is to simply be present for an hour or two while the hearing takes place this coming Wednesday morning.

If you have questions about he hearing or process, you can contact the Zoning Code Commission at zoning.commission@phila.gov
