Eyes on the Street, is a blog that will chronicle the challenge of making a well-designed, 21st-century Philadelphia.

On this dynamic product, you’ll find daily discussion about good design, great neighborhoods, vibrant communities, interesting architecture past/present/future, smart planning and development projects, and the many individuals who make those things happen in Philadelphia. It’s also a space where Philadelphians can engage with one another about the built environment of their city.

For Eyes on the Street to thrive, the conversations here have to be real and your participation is key. This blog is a platform where people who care about planning and development in Philadelphia can share their observations, inspirations, and questions. It’s a place to connect with and learn from one another in an ongoing dialogue about Philadelphia’s future.

Eyes on the Street is edited by Ashley Hahn, who holds masters degrees in City and Regional Planning and Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania. Her B.A. is in Government and Philosophy from Skidmore College. Ashley has written for various media outlets, public agencies, and nonprofit clients. Her reporting earned an award for Environmental Coverage from the New York Press Association in 2004. Most recently Ashley worked for the Historic Properties Fund at the New York Landmarks Conservancy.

Ashley has lived in 12 zip codes that she can think of, including neighborhoods in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, New York and Philadelphia. She is proud to call 19147 home.
