Right NEast/Wrong NEast: Port Richmond returns to the Northeast

Ah, Port Richmond, how we’ve missed you.

It was July 1, 2010 the last time a publication confused Port Richmond and the Northeast. Until Fox broke the streak and slipped up Nov. 5.

That’s when the report of a prostitution raid at a strip club came out — at the Penthouse Club on Castor Avenue near Delaware Avenue. The same Penthouse Club that Port Richmond residents fought to keep out of the neighborhood before it opened. But to Fox29, Penthouse is in the Northeast:

Despite the club’s communication with Port Richmond community groups and its location south of the Frankford Creek, Fox just couldn’t resist flying by the seat of its pants when picking a location for the story.

Outside media don’t care about the Northeast. We have all seen them misuse, misspell and mistake our neighborhoods and our streets, so we at NEast mag wanted to do something about it. When they get it wrong, we set it right in a segment we like to call Right NEast/Wrong NEast.
