Cat of the Week: Tommy (making his second appearance)

Update, Dec. 14: Tommy has been adopted by a person who also adopted a younger cat for Tommy to play with.

Tommy was previously featured as a Cat of the Week, but is still very much in need of a home.

My name is Tommy (A14457378) and I’m an adult tabby and white male cat found wandering outside all by my lonesome.

I had a lot of fleas and they made me lose some of my hair. Hey, don’t judge…I’m told that sometimes baldness can a sign of a distinguished gentleman! The nice people at the shelter treated me for my hair loss and put me on some meds for it. I’m doing much better already. I may not be the prettiest guy around, but I sure am friendly!

One of my eyes has a minor issue called “entropian,” which means my eyelashes rub on my eye. I have a mild case and the vet at the shelter says that it doesn’t bother me enough to put me through the surgery to fix it- so please don’t be put off by it! My other eye doesn’t blink too much and I probably don’t see a lot out of it, but that’s okay. I get around just fine and can always find my way to your hand or lap for snuggles.

Does all that bother me? NOPE! I’m the same happy-go-lucky guy I’ve always been. I’m super sweet, love affection, and yes, I’m a little less than gorgeous right now, but I think I’ll clean up nicely in a home. A foster home would be a great place for me to recover because while I’m in foster care, the shelter covers my medical care!

I can also be adopted! My eye conditions don’t require any medicine and my skin will clear up with good food and a soft couch (hey, I’m just saying what the doctor said! Also: toys and catnip).

If you’re looking for a gorgeous (on the inside!), happy, affectionate, fun cat and you really really want to save a life, I’m the cat for you. People keep passing me over, but I’m not giving up. I know the home is out there somewhere.

he may lack in looks (although we don’t think so!) he makes up for in love and

These animals are located at Philadelphia’s animal control shelter, ACCT. They need immediate adoption or foster care. ACCT is located at 111 W Hunting Park Ave and is open 365 days a year.
