Dog of the Week: Ace

Ace comes to us as Dog of the Week after the original featured dog, Dallas, was adopted. Dallas found a home before we could even post about him.

Hello, Ace (A14622768) here. Greetings from the shelter. I am a young terrier/pit bull mix looking for the right home. My last owners moved and forgot to take me – maybe because they put me out in the yard. I am hoping to find a new family that has a better memory and one that is looking for a sweet, young dog that they can have as a companion for life. I just know I will be the best dog ever if you give me a chance!

I am a little nervous in this place; it is so much different than home. Don’t get me wrong, the humans are great here, they take very good care of me. It is just very noisy. I prefer napping in the lap of a person while they are rubbing behind my ears. I like to stay close to my companion. I will follow you anywhere.

Even though I am a little stressed right now, I am okay with people touching my food, cats and other dogs – although I am very cautious around other males (I feel a little intimidated around other males, but I really dig chicks). The dog I met here to play with was a little rambunctious for me- I like things more chill. If you have a dog, we should meet first. Start with a play date to make sure the chemistry is right. I haven’t really been around any young kids (younger than 8) so far, but I could be open to the possibility. Again, this is something we need to discuss in person. Bring in the kids and we can play a game of catch!

So what do you say? Come on down to the shelter! Take me for a walk, feed me some cookies (or any other yummy treats) and see if our chemistry is right.

Check in every week with NEast Philly to see the cat and dog of the week.
