Design in Action 2011, Oct. 9-11
This conference will bring three national groups— the Association of Community Design (ACD), the Association of Architectural Organizations (AAO) and the Architecture + Design Education Network (A+DEN)—to Philadelphia from October 9-11.
Design in Action 2011 is a part of our Urban Energy initiative, a year-long series recognizing the Collaborative’s twenty years of strengthening neighborhoods through design.The Community Design Collaborative will welcome over 400 community design, design advocacy and design education advocates to Philly in October as the local host to Design in Action 2011.
Design in Action 2011 will focus on the ways architectural organizations, community designers and educators work together best to promote and advocate for quality design in our communities. The conference will also offer practitioners a chance to investigate projects—big or small, traditional or experimental—to see how they speak to one another and illuminate the larger aims we share.
