Klein JCC awarded $5k for participation in Subaru Meals on Wheels program

Klein JCC of Bustleton is receiving more attention for its Meals on Wheels program.

The community center has been awarded $5,000 from the Meals on Wheels Association of America for its participation in Subaru’s “Share the Love” program. From Nov. 19 to Jan, 3, 48 MOW programs around the country recruited Subaru dealership employees to volunteer delivery and community services.

“We are so excited to create this new partnership with Subaru,” Klein JCC President and CEO Andrew Krug said in a news release.”We hope that together we can continue to provide vital services for the most vulnerable members of our community. We applaud corporations, like Subaru, for their commitment to address the most pressing needs within our society.”

MOWAA awarded $150,000 to participating Meals on Wheels programs. Klein JCC’s Home Delivered Meals will use its portion of the funding to subsidize the cost of food and expenses for meals served to homebound elders including fresh fruits and vegetables.
