Brendan Boyle presents check to Burholme Emergency Medical Service

State Rep. Brendan Boyle, D-170th, brought good news from Harrisburg to The Burholme Emergency Medical Service Friday. Boyle presented a check for $5,679.61, a grant from the Office of Pennsylvania Fire Commissioner to BEMS Managing Director Tim Hinchcliff.

“I am proud to support a great EMS in my district,” Boyle said. “Programs like the grant from the Office of Pennsylvania Fire Commissioner are critically important for public safety in the Northeast and Montgomery County.”

Hinchcliff said the grant would be used to purchase a “Tough Book,” which would aide EMS workers in transmitting patient care reports electronically to the BEMS base and the state.

“What we collect in fund raising barely covers cost,” Hinchcliff said. “Grants like this are very important to our ability to provide service to the community.”

“I am concerned with Gov. Corbett’s cost-cutting,” Boyle said. “Organizations like BEMS need us to fight for them. We presented the check to BEMS today to highlight what they do and how the state should support organizations like this.”
