ICEdot emergency notification system comes to Philadelphia [video]

ICEdot has arrived in Philadelphia

It’s as simple as a sticker on your car or the window of your house. The yellow sticker and accompanying brochure hold your family members’ names, emergency contact information and other personal details to assist first responders in an emergency.

The In Case of Emergency system is a free service now offered in Philadelphia that residents can register with online. Representative Chris Zenthoefer was at last night’s Lawncrest Community Association meeting to walk through the sign up process and take members’ questions.

After a brief interruption to get a working microphone, Zenthoefer breezed through the presentation that yielded few questions from the audience. The main concern – quickly put to rest – was that registering with ICEdot would subject participants to spam emails or open them up to phishing schemes.

Not so, Zenoether assured, as ICEdot does not share or sell email addresses to third parties.
