Right NEast/Wrong NEast: When selling a house, note the difference between Wissinoming and Torresdale

Wissinoming stretches into the Delaware River. So does Torresdale. Wissinoming’s major thoroughfares include Frankford, Torresdale and State Road. Same goes for Torresdale.

They are not; however, the same neighborhood, or even adjacent.

Someone better tell Devin Haley. He runs Flip That House Philadelphia, “Philadelphia metro’s #1 source for discount wholesale fix and flip/buy and hold properties direct to cash investors, rehabbers, landlords and discount cash homebuyers.”

The website is selling the “Wissinoming/Torresdale semi-detached handyman special” on the 6100-block of Marsden Street. That block is Wissinoming, but it’s definitely not Torresdale. You’d have to go north through Tacony, Holmesburg and Upper Holmesburg before hitting Torresdale.

We shouldn’t be surprised. Doesn’t appear much time went into creating the listing:

Outside media don’t care about the Northeast. We have all seen them misuse, misspell and mistake our neighborhoods and our streets, so we at NEast Philly wanted to do something about it. When they get it wrong, we set it right in a segment we like to call Right NEast/Wrong NEast.
