Inside the Benjamin Franklin Bridge’s secret spaces [video]

What lies within the Benjamin Franklin Bridge’s anchorage towers is off-limits to most folks, but the Delaware River Port Authority took the Courier-Post on a tour of the fabulous hidden spaces within the bridge.

The bridge was built in the early 1920s and its design integrated transit infrastructure that was never used due to rapidly shifting technology. As a result, whole areas of the bridge remain unseen. Lucky for us, the Courier-Post made this cool video revealing forgotten trolley stops, uninhabited news stand alcoves, and beautifully tiled public spaces that never were. Take a peek inside.
