Memorial services Friday and Saturday for two fallen firefighters

Memorial services have been set for the two Philadelphia firefighters who died Monday battling a multi-alarm blaze n Kensington.

Lt. Robert Neary and Firefighter Daniel Sweeney were putting out a fire at a warehouse in the neighborhood when they were trapped in a collapse. They both worked out of Ladder 10 at Kensington and Castor Avenues.

Viewings for Neary will be Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m. at Givnish Funeral Home at 10975 Academy Rd. His interment will be private.

Sweeney’s services are Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Church at 535 Rhawn St. His funeral service begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery at 4001 W. Cheltenham Ave.
