Weather can’t keep bustling crowd from Fox Chase Arts in the Park event [slideshow]

Overcast skies and an occasional drizzle on Saturday didn’t damper those attending the annual Fox Chase Arts in the Park held in Lions Park.

The park was full of artists, photographers, crafters, jewelry, toys, even sausage sandwiches and chocolate. The Philadelphia Firefighters and Paramedics Family Association was on hand to talk about “Brown Outs” imposed by Maypr Michael Nutter, and Vist Financial was on hand to offer financial advice to those passing through the park.

Phil Magee,  vice president of the local business association headed up this year’s effort, but was quick to give credit elsewhere. “Nora McClosky of The Blooming Artist Studio and Marlena Harrington of Her Knight were the driving force behind this year’s effort,” Magee said. “The increase in vendors is attributed to the hard work they put into the event.”

The Celtic Connection performed throughout the day and encouraged attendees to donate to fix the Fox Chase Clock, which on this day, was keeping time with the band.
