Overington Park perennials sale raises money for park events

Frankford gardeners came together Saturday to raise money for Overington Park events by selling perennials from neighborhood gardens.

The park at 4600 Leiper St. now has freshly planted annuals, Tropical Cannas and sunflower seeds, and many Frankford residents went home with flowers they purchased from neighbors.

The Frankford Gazette has photos of Saturday’s sale and details from the Friends of Overington Park’s next neighborhood event.

The plant sale helped close out Philadelphia’s Love Your Park Week, encouraging residents to “clean, green and love” their neighborhood parks.
