Fels, Northeast removed from ‘persistently dangerous’ schools list

Two Northeast high schools have been removed from the “persistently dangerous” list. School District of Philadelphia officials announced today that six schools remain on the list – down from 10 last year.

Fels High School and Northeast High School have both been removed from the list. But of the four high schools that remain on the list from last year, two are in the Northeast: Lincoln and Frankford.

Fels, Frankford, Lincoln and Northeast all made the list in 2011 for the number of violent incidents that took place at the schools. Overall violence in district schools is down, according to a Philly.com report.
