Winchester Park cop charged with stealing utilities

Two Philadelphia Police officers have been charged with stealing water, energy and gas utilities at two city properties.

Winchester Park resident Lt. Aisha Perry has been charged with six counts of theft of services at her home on Winchester Avenue near Albion Street, and at a North Philadelphia rehabilitation center. Officer George Suarez, co-owner of the rehab center, is also charged.

Perry’s arrest comes after an investigation that began in the Spring, but a separate investigation began in July when a friend drowned in her in-ground pool and Perry failed to call 911 in a timely manner.

She and Suarez have been suspended with intent to dismiss.
