Bartram's Mile Design Workshop
Saturday, November 10, 12-3pm. Bartram's Garden, 54th Street and Lindbergh Boulevard. Come for the last of four public outreach sessions to gather input about the proposed Bartram's Mile recreational trail. The new trail, being planned by Philadelphia Parks and Rec, will create a new section of Schuylkill Banks, and connect Bartram's Garden to the 58th Street Greenway and the Gray's Ferry Crescent. Frankford Fall Music and Arts Fest
Saturday, November 10, 2-8pm. Saint Mark’s Church, 4442 Frankford Avenue. Flying Kite has set up shop in Frankford for the season, and is presenting Frankford’s first Fall Music and Arts Fest in historic Saint Mark’s Church. The fest will feature three performance stages, food trucks, beer and hard cider, art and craft vendors. Tickets are $8 in advance online; $10 at door; $5 with a can of food to donate.
Philly Tree People fall planting
Sunday, November 11, 10am. Meet at 2771 Jasper St. Help neighbors plant 60 new trees around Fishtown, Port Richmond, and East Kensington. No experience is necessary but volunteers should bring their own gloves. There will be a volunteer lunch after planting at the Philadelphia Brewing Company on Martha at Hagert Street. Rain or shine.
Artists Taking Back Philadelphia – Brick by Brick
Sunday, November 11, 2pm. Mt. Airy Art Garage, 11 West Mt. Airy Avenue. The final version of RUST (Renewed Urban Studio Tent) is installed at Mt. Airy Art Garage as a demonstration building from recycled materials and natural systems. As part of a full weekend of RUST events, RUST creators Andy Walker and Andy Heisey will be joined by Chief Cultural Officer for the City of Philadelphia Gary Steuer, and Philly Painting’s Shari Hersh and Dre Urhahn for a panel discussion about using art as a renewal strategy. Admission is $10.
