Ryan HS is pet food drive drop-off site
The holiday season brings many collections — from food to toys to pajamas and winter coats, organizations and businesses across the city use the holidays as a way to pitch in a little more and provide for those who need it most.
This year, Archbishop Ryan High School has decided to help an even more underserved community. The school is partnering with 93.3 WMMR’s Preston and Steve Show to collect food cans for cats and dogs.
“At Ryan we want to help families and their pets who are having difficult times financially,” teacher Connie Myer said. “With your help, we can make sure that the family pets are not forgotten.Myer is the school’s Camp Out for Hunger coordinator. The campaign is collecting dog and cat food to be distributed through Philadoptables, a nonprofit that works with the Philadelphia Animal Shelter.
Donations can be made now through Nov. 30 at the drop-off boxes in the school’s lobbies between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
