Tacony hoagie shop owner visits Washington

You can usually find Ernie DeNofa in Tacony. He’s the owner of  DeNofa’s Deli at 6946 Torresdale Ave., one of three shops in Tacony’s Hoagie Trail.

But DeNofa was in Washington, D.C., Thursday with Rep. Bob Brady, D-Phila. The pair were celebrating Brady’s re-appointment to the House Administration Committee, but DeNofa had another mission, too.

He presented former House Speak Nancy Pelosi with a mortadella sandwich with tomatoes, olive oil, salt, pepper and oregano.

DeNofa’s Deli has been feeding folks in the Capitol (unofficially) for 20 years.
