Casino proposal 'listening tour'

The Inquirer's Double Down blog reports that the City Planning Commisison is embarking on a "listening tour" to gauge public opinion on the six proposals for Philadelphia's second casino in advance of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's hearings in April. The listening tour will make three stops in late March:

  • South Philadelphia, Tuesday, March 26, 6-8pm at Lincoln Financial Field (1020 Pattison Avenue)
  • Center City, Wednesday, March 27, 6-8pm at the Center for Architecture (1218 Arch Street)
  • Old City, Thursday, March 28, 6-8pm at the Painted Bride Art Center (230 Vine Street)

Jennifer Lin reports that Alan Greenberger, Deputy Mayor and Executive Director of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, is soliciting the public feedback in the hope of gathering "critical questions" for the Planning Commission's consideration and fodder for his testimony before the Gaming Control Board.

Stay tuned also for an online survey about the six proposals.
