Mayfair girl in cancer remission hosts lemonade stand Saturday

Corin Stewart, a 9-year-old Mayfair resident, will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside Marinucci’s Deli at Brous Avenue and St. Vincent Street.

The St. Matt’s third-grader is in remission from cancer. Her mother spoke to the Daily News Friday about the years of treatment and surgeries Corin has had. If all goes well, she’ll officially be considered cancer-free next year.

Saturday’s lemonade stand will be a community effort. Marinucci’s will donate lemonade, chips and mini pretzels, while Datillo’s Deli and the Rhawnhurst Rita’s pitch in with some water ice. Donations to the lemonade stand will also be accepted online.
