Tacony CDC putting License to Inspect app to the test

PlanPhilly’s License to Inspect application, a project of Azavea and the city, funded by the William Penn Foundation, is being put to a road test by the Tacony Community Development Corporation.

The application offers intuitive data search, sort, and download functionality that enables users to search building permits; zoning variances; code violations including inspection violations, dangerous conditions and demolitions; fire code violations; cease occupancy orders; stop work orders; and housing inspection licenses among other data provided by an API built by Philadelphia’s Office of Innovation and Technology.

The Tacony CDC used License to Inspect to better understand market dynamics and conditions, recently pulling data from the Philadelphia Department of Licenses and Inspections to analyze construction permits issued in its community through the licensetoinspect program.
